Additional Kitchen Sockets

Older kitchens, particularly in Victorian terraces and 1930s properties around Norwich, were rarely designed with enough sockets for modern appliances. I regularly install additional sockets above worktops, hidden appliance outlets and more practical power layouts to improve both convenience and usability.

Island Sockets and Pop-Up Sockets

Kitchen islands are becoming increasingly popular, but they need careful planning to ensure power is both practical and discreet. I install island sockets, pop-up sockets and concealed power solutions for modern kitchen designs.

Induction Hob Circuits and Cooker Connections

Many newer induction hobs require dedicated circuits and higher electrical loads than older kitchens were originally designed for. I install and upgrade cooker and hob circuits, connect ovens and induction hobs, and check existing wiring and protection are suitable for the appliances being installed.

Under Cabinet and Feature Lighting

Lighting can completely change the feel and practicality of a kitchen. I regularly install under cabinet lighting, feature lighting, LED strip lighting, pendant lighting over islands and upgraded kitchen lighting layouts to improve both appearance and functionality.

Extractor Fans and Cooker Hood Wiring

Extractor fans and cooker hoods are often overlooked during the planning stage of a kitchen renovation. I can install new supplies, isolation switches and wiring for integrated extractor systems and cooker hoods as part of the kitchen project.

Integrated Appliance Connections

I carry out electrical connections for integrated appliances including ovens, hobs, dishwashers, fridge freezers, boiling water taps and other kitchen equipment, ensuring circuits and protection are suitable for the installation.

Consumer Unit and Fuse Board Upgrades

Kitchen renovations often uncover older fuse boards, lack of RCD protection or circuits that are no longer suitable for modern electrical demands. Where needed, I can carry out consumer unit upgrades alongside kitchen projects, including RCBO protection and surge protection where appropriate.

First Fix and Second Fix Kitchen Electrics

I normally visit before the kitchen installation starts, work from kitchen plans where possible, and carefully go through socket positions, appliance locations and lighting layouts with you before the first fix begins. Once plastering and kitchen fitting are complete, I return to carry out the second fix, testing and certification.
